Welcome to the OpenSea digest. Let’s look back through the biggest NFT and web3 news of the week.
New L2 Chain, Frame, Launches — And It’s Built Specifically for NFTs
What could be better than a Layer 2 chain built just for NFTs? This week, Ethereum-based creator network Frame announced it is developing just that — an EVM-compatible L2 designed to streamline NFT activities and make the process of minting, buying, and selling NFTs more accessible for creators.
Frame’s new L2 also offers a native royalty tool that will give creators the chance to opt into enforced royalties.
In addition, Frame is allocating a portion of the L2’s sequencer fees (similar to transaction fees) to a creator treasury — an unprecedented power move that shows the network's creator-first stance. “We want to reward developers, creators, and community members that push the NFT space forward,” wrote Cygar, one of Frame’s developers and core contributor to the new L2. “A portion of sequencer fees will be allocated for this [creator] fund,” the engineer explained.
Finally, the Frame team has baked Delegate, a wallet security protocol, directly into the L2. Delegate helps protect users by letting them link cold storage wallets to a more public-facing hot wallet that acts as a buffer against security risks.
There is currently no public Frame L2 testnet, but the NFT world is keeping a close eye on this project and eagerly awaiting the day when minting becomes available.
Web3 Education Community BFF Acquired by Boss Beauties
As the NFT world matures amid ever-changing market conditions, two powerhouse women-led NFT projects announced on Monday an exciting acquisition.
Boss Beauties, an entertainment and media company dedicated to uplifting the coming generations of women and girls, has officially acquired BFF, an educational community dedicated to onboarding women and non-binary people to web3 and the frontier of tech.
In an X Space announcing the acquisition, Boss Beauties co-founder and CEO Lisa Mayer spoke alongside BFF co-founder Jaime Schmidt to share excitement for the consolidation of the two communities, noting the similarities in their missions of inclusivity and accessibility.
Additionally, Mayer expressed optimism about the move. She emphasized its potential to open up pathways for women’s success, adding that web3 is expected to reach a market size of $10 trillion in the next five years, and gender disparities prevent women and girls from participating in this growth.
Represented by the global talent agency WME, Boss Beauties is known widely by consumers of both web3 and traditional brands. Such widespread brand recognition is thanks, in part, to its partnerships with Barbie, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and the Nasdaq stock exchange.
The OP Stack’s Fault Proof System is Live on Testnet
The visionary developers over at OP Stack have done it once again! The inaugural fault proof system is now live on the Goerli testnet, providing the groundwork for multi-proof disputes that can also include zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs.
Unveiled in this alpha release were three components: the Fault Proof Program (FPP), the Fault Proof Virtual Machine (FPVM) and the dispute game protocol. Together, these components enhance scalability and decentralization while guarding against malicious or faulty activities on the OP Stack network.
Beyond these components, what makes OP Stack’s fault proof system stand out is its modular design. The FPP and FPVM can be separated from one another, thereby giving developers more capacity for customization.
While in test mode, the OP Stack team is calling for the help of security experts and white hat hackers to find and fix bugs. Learn more about Optimism’s bug bounty program.
Beeple Studios Hosted a CryptoPunk Meetup in Charleston, SC
In an iconic mash-up, acclaimed digital artist Beeple hosted a meetup for holders of the pioneering NFT artwork CryptoPunks.
On September 30, Beeple Studios welcomed the CryptoPunk community to its brick-and-mortar gallery in Charleston, SC for an all-day soiree featuring panels, drinks, and networking. Speakers included LarvaLabs co-founders Matt Hall and John Wilkinson, who spoke about their experiences as the masterminds behind CryptoPunks.

Dawn Announces The Launch of New AI-Powered Crypto Wallet
What happens when you give a crypto wallet the conversational ability of iPhone’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa? A new Ethereum-based crypto wallet company plans to find out.
The company, Dawn Wallet, has infused artificial intelligence (AI) into its design so that users can treat their crypto wallet like another trusted AI sidekick. According to a description on the wallet’s X (Twitter) page, the AI-driven crypto copilot can interpret voice commands in order to send transactions, interact with protocols, answer crypto-related questions and perform on-chain queries to analyze data.
Perhaps an AI-powered voice-command wallet could give users additional support where it’s needed. Dawn sees the role of AI and large language models (LLMs) as that of an interpreter and executor of consumer commands. It’s in this spirit that the company strives to make its AI “deeply competent” and better infuse the potential of blockchain data with algorithmic capabilities.
Adidas and Moncler Collab Results in New Fashion NFT
Italian luxury house Moncler and iconic sportswear brand Adidas have come together for a boundary-pushing NFT collaboration that takes consumers on a journey from mountain peaks to urban streets.
Entitled “The Art of Explorers,” the collection is a nod to both brands’ origins while celebrating the spirit of adventure. The artwork features a series of AI-generated explorers and mixed-media sculptures inspired by the designs of notable artists like Gary Card, Ibby Njoya and Kate Tabor. Before being minted as NFTs, the looks were styled and accessorized in real life (IRL) by Ai Kamoshita and Isamaya Ffrench, respectively, and photographed at London Fashion Week by Hanna Moon.
The collection itself showcases a range of puffers, track jackets and vests that blend Moncler's iconic shapes with adidas Originals' recognizable design elements. Vibrant colors and innovative materials create a dynamic urban-meets-mountain aesthetic.
This collaboration comes on the heels of the introduction of Moncler’s new immersive platform, moncler.com, featuring a digital gallery and exclusive limited-edition releases.
Nike Announces First Physical .Swoosh Shoe Release
American sneaker giant, Nike, is once again bridging the gap between physical wearables and digital — only this time, it’s moving in reverse.
This week, Nike announced its first-ever physical sneaker inspired by virtual wearables from its digital collectibles platform, .Swoosh. The design should be recognizable to many: It’s a low-top take on the iconic Nike Air Force 1 with .Swoosh branding and a classic black-and-white color scheme. The shoes will also feature a cheeky abbreviated slogan, TINAJ, which stands for “This is not a JPEG.”
The release is scheduled for October 20, and the physical iteration will only be available to those who have previously purchased digital Air Force 1s. While the digital Air Force 1 drop may not have the same hype as a line-around-the-block physical store release, its exclusivity adds excitement for loyal collectors and Nike enthusiasts.
