Welcome to the OpenSea digest. Let’s look back through the biggest NFT and web3 news of the week.

Dolce & Gabbana digital suit fractionalized on Base

Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana is turning its Glass Suit, a translucent, gem-encrusted tuxedo, into a fractionalized NFT on Base, an Ethereum L2 blockchain developed by Coinbase.

The suit was originally auctioned in 2021 as part of “Collezione Genesi,” Dolce & Gabbana’s debut NFT collection, and reportedly sold for $1 million to Boson Protocol, a decentralized commerce platform.

The auction included the physical suit, which was said to have taken eight months to create, and a digital version minted as an Ethereum NFT.

Fermion Protocol, a new tokenization platform founded by Boson co-founder Justin Banon, is now fractionalizing the NFT to expand its ownership among a larger number of collectors.

To mark the launch, Fermion will transfer fragments of the Glass Suit to select web3 communities. Interested collectors can sign up for related updates on the Fermion website

Illuvium, a blockchain gaming studio known for its sci-fi fantasy universe, is restructuring its operations. The team is shifting its open-world creature collection RPG, Overworld, to an MMO-lite model.

The decision aims to simplify gaming while making the game more accessible to new players. Illuvium reportedly plans to make Overworld’s new structure its primary focus starting mid-year, after completing planned updates to PvP mode in Arena, its autobattler game, in Q2.

Nifty Island’s AI agents go live

Nifty Island, an open-world multichain social game, has activated AI agents that players can use in and out of the game. The agents remember past interactions by reading and writing data from third-party sources, so they don’t start fresh every session. That makes the gameplay more fun and dynamic, while keeping players on their toes.

According to the announcement, players can create intelligent NPCs with distinct storylines and personalities, or send agents to complete tasks, chat with others, and keep things running when they are not online.

The agents also work on X, Discord, and Telegram, so players can set them up to interact across different platforms.

Nifty Island says more updates are on the way to make the AI agents even more useful.

The project’s next steps allude possibly to 3D printing and a roadmap that includes real-world fashion and collectibles.

SuperGaming teams up with B3 to launch a dedicated gamechain

Indian game developer SuperGaming is launching its own blockchain-powered gamechain on B3, a gaming-focused layer-three (L3) network built on Base.
