Welcome to the OpenSea digest. Let’s look back through the biggest NFT and web3 news of the week.

BloodLoop MMO shooter launches June 23 on Epic Games Store

Swiss game studio Ragnarok Games is launching BloodLoop, a free-to-play dystopian hero shooter with NFT-powered items, on June 23 in early access on the Epic Games Store.

The game takes place in 2191, where three factions battle in virtual arenas using gravity-bending powers and skill-based tactics. Players can compete in Team Deathmatch, Energy War, or Free-For-All modes, earning and trading on-chain gear along the way.

Backed by $4 million in funding and early wishlist momentum, the team behind BloodLoop has stated its first goal is to create a fun game that sustains player interest, with blockchain components remaining optional for now.

FC Barcelona launches Barça.Pass to connect global fans with digital collectibles and avatars

FC Barcelona debuted Barça.Pass on June 19, a web3 wallet created with immersive tech company Futureverse to bring the club's global fanbase into virtual fandom.

According to a press release shared with OpenSea, the pass is now available to more than 11 million fans with existing Barça IDs. The platform lets users create official avatars wearing official FC Barcelona gear and collect digital items stored on The Root Network, a blockchain designed for interoperability and open metaverse activations.

Fans can use their collectibles in curated web3 apps, games, and metaverse worlds selected by the club while retaining full ownership and the ability to take the items into other compatible platforms.

DogeOS and PlaysOut bring Dogecoin gaming to mobile

Mini-game publisher PlaysOut and application layer DogeOS will launch about 15 Dogecoin-themed casual games by the end of 2025. The games will reportedly reward players with DOGE tokens and use Doginals—a Dogecoin-native NFT format, named similarly to Bitcoin’s Ordinals—to represent in-game items like skins.

Players can access the games through the MyDoge crypto wallet and the PlaysOut mobile app.

The first title is expected to roll out in August.

Rekt Drinks lands shelf space at 7-Eleven

Rekt Drinks, the crypto-native flavored water brand, is officially going mainstream with a Southern California rollout at 7-Eleven starting next week.

The product, popular among web3 enthusiasts and event-goers, will now be available at the world’s largest convenience store chain.

This move signals growing retail appetite for culture-driven, community-built products, many of which start online.

For collectors and fans, the partnership is another sign that blockchain-born brands are finding ways to enter the physical retail world.

Pudgy Penguins partner with My Neighbor Alice

Pudgy Penguins, the popular Arctic-themed NFT collection, is partnering with multiplayer blockchain game My Neighbor Alice, to launch Pudgy Land, a new snowy island zone within the game’s Snowflake Wilds update that was released June 17.

Holders of Pudgy Penguins NFTs (including Lil Pudgys and Pudgy Rods) can unlock custom in-game features like quests, gear skins, and companions that hatch from digital eggs.

The partnership gives collectors new ways to use their digital items throughout virtual gameplay. And at the same time, the brand is entering mainstream publishing with its first children’s book, “The Worst Birthday Present Ever,” available now for preorder at Target, Walmart, and other major retailers.

Meebits and mmERCH kick off new drop with NYC event

NFT fashion label mmERCH is hosting an in-person launch event on June 25 in New York City. The evening will showcase mmERCH’s latest hoodie drop, a collaboration with Meebits, the 3D voxel-style avatars created by Larva Labs and acquired in 2022 by BAYC creator Yuga Labs

The gathering also celebrates the growing sense of community among Meebit holders, many of whom are expected to attend wearing their Meebit-inspired gear.

Coincidentally, the event’s timing syncs with longtime collector Adam Weitsman’s purchase of Meebit #8369, one of only five rare “Dissected” avatars, which he added to his collection on his birthday.

The Meebits collaboration and launch party comes on the heels of the announcement that closed beta for mmERCH’s wearable NFC chips went live earlier this month.

Genesis Pinnacle kicks off Genesis Keys campaign with 1-of-1 digital pin unlocks

Disney Pinnacle by Dapper Labs has launched the Genesis Keys campaign, the platform's first major event giving collectors a chance to unlock rare Disney-themed digital pins.

Beginning June 12, users have been able to claim free Genesis Keys every four hours through the in-app Revolving Storefront. Additional keys are distributed via milestone rewards and promo vouchers.

According to a press release shared with OpenSea, Genesis Capsules containing ultra-rare pins will be released progressively as holders collectively hit 100,000, 200,000, and 300,000 total claims.

Three Genesis Capsules will go live in total, each containing a unique digital pin featuring Simba and Rafiki from the Lion King, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible from The Incredibles, and Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul from the Star Wars universe.
