Get Based Primitives Edition

Hun’s greatest motivation when making art is the experience of connecting with their inner creativity in a moment of digital exploration. As part of the "Get Based" campaign, Hun’s piece of artwork is a celebration of Base, pixel art, and Primitives culture.

Check out the drop here.

OpenSea: Could you introduce us to your art style and the main themes you explore in your artwork?

Hun: Currently, I am focusing mainly on pixel art with the development of Primitives in its different phases over time. My artwork aims to bring life to artistic characters that resonate with the crypto culture by using a style that aims for aesthetic, clean and classic/retro results.

OpenSea: Can you walk us through your creative process when developing an NFT collection or piece?

Hun: I love this question; For me the quality of the creative process is the most important part when creating something. I normally try to abstract myself from external artistic influences or market trends, and rather I find myself in a state of greater intimacy that helps me connect with my own creative manifestation in a cleaner way, resulting in a beneficial personal experience. I am convinced that we all have a creative side that asks to be attended to, and that is what I try to do.

OpenSea: Can you discuss any unique challenges or opportunities you encounter when creating art, specifically for the digital realm of NFTs?

Hun: Regarding the biggest challenge to developing my art in the digital realm of NFTs, it is undoubtedly the search for originality. We are part of a space that is constantly showing us new results, and sometimes it seems that everything has already been explored. This is where the real challenge of standing out and really creating something new.

Regarding the opportunity, it is an immense opportunity how technology and the digital era can help us as a window to the world, the ease of reaching people is incomparable.

OpenSea: What motivated you to create on Base? How do you think Base's features will benefit your artistic expression?

Hun: I usually develop my work in Ethereum L1, but gas has really been demotivating users. This is where Base came in with its technology and a solution. But beyond that, I see Base as a new ecosystem that brings fresh air to NFTs and crypto in general. I see it as a new form to build in, where there is greater closeness between the big names and the smaller users. I believe that all this contributes to a more positive environment and redefines the values of crypto Culture. Without a doubt, I see a very prosperous future for Base and I'm here to continue being an active part of it.

OpenSea: How has blockchain technology influenced or changed the way you approach art creation?

Hun: The greatest influence that my art has received from blockchain technology is the openness to working with art digitally, and creating collections and not just individual unique pieces. This has led me to many new and challenging aspects– the creation of original traits, the order of rarity done with meaning, the consistency in the collection seen as a whole, and the work for the community, to name the most important ones.

OpenSea: How do you plan to engage with your audience through your NFTs on OpenSea? Are there any interactive elements or community-driven aspects to your work?

Hun: This is another very important aspect when developing my creative work. My intention is not only to give the collector the opportunity to have a piece, but also to go beyond the usual. Currently for example, I am developing a second stage in Primitives in which the OG collector will have the opportunity to generate a new NFT piece by actively participating in the selection of some traits before the final result through the use of an interactive dApp. To make it clear, this second stage is exclusive and only for holders of the first Primitives collection.

OpenSea: What future developments in the NFT space excite you the most, and how do you plan to incorporate these into your future projects?

Hun: With the accelerated advancement of technology, tools to develop art, and AI, currently my greatest motivation is to ensure that my future projects preserve the classic, simple, and retro art. In this regard, I am very excited to know how the vision of pixel art will evolve over time. However, I am also very open and interested in continuing to learn about the use of technology in favor of art.

OpenSea: What advice would you give to artists who are new to the NFT space and are considering launching their first digital collection?

Hun: Three tips

  1. Create for yourself and if that resonates in the community, that much better.
  2. Remember that nowadays everyone is very critical, take care of your reputation on socials!
  3. Whether we like it or not, crypto works in cycles. Be patient and wait for an auspicious moment.

OpenSea: Where do you see the future of digital art and NFTs heading in the next five years? How do you hope to contribute to this future?

Hun: With the rapid massification of crypto that we have seen recently, I see that digital art and NFTs will continue to reach more places until they become a normal part of our society. My contribution will remain the same: create with originality, develop my work with a solid ethical basis, and provide digital experiences for my collectors.
