Invisible Friends Physical Collectibles was the first physical collectible from web3 project Invisible Friends. The collection features both small and large high-quality toy versions of the iconic original Invisible Friend. People could mint either version (or both!) as an NFT and will be able to redeem it for the physical toy in the coming months.

Why an NFT project?
Launching Invisible Friends Physical Collectibles as an NFT project was not only true to Invisible Friends’ origins and ethos, but also made key elements of the drop easier. They were able to grant early access to existing Invisible Friends holders using OpenSea’s allowlist support, as opposed to building another presale mechanism. Leveraging NFTs for these collectibles also allows people to freely buy and sell them after the original mint, before they redeem them for the physical toy.

OpenSea Effect
The Invisible Friends team chose to work with OpenSea on this drop because of the fiat options and marketing support OpenSea provided.
Ability to buy with card
Expanding the Invisible Friends community through this drop was important to the Invisible Friends team, and fiat options were crucial for accomplishing this goal.
Marketing support
OpenSea and the Invisible Friends team worked closely together on a unique campaign across multiple social media platforms, using AR to bring the iconic Friend to places across the globe. This was incredibly well-received with many community members creating and sharing content with the AR Friend. The campaign not only promoted the drop itself, but also helped drive traffic to the Invisible Friends channels overall.

INVISIBLE FRIENDS TOY PREVIEW
How it went
The Invisible Friends team viewed success in two ways: the toy drop itself, but also in its impact to the overarching Invisible Friends and RCC brand. The mint only lasted a few hours, and almost 900 toys were bought. The drop generated over $230k in primary GMV and over $260k in secondary GMV so far.
Invisible Friends Physical Collectible holders will be able to redeem their NFTs for the physical toy later this year!
