Victor Ribas - photography in the author's linear technique Nastya Belova - model, voice.

This image was created ten years ago, and today has received a sad resonance with modern events. This year, this image was presented between masterpieces of collection of Tretyakov's in the form of a lightbox, which was made by replacing the television picture to this work of art. The artist dismantled the TV and threw out of it all the electronic filling responsible for receiving propaganda television. The artist denotes the problem of manipulation of public consciousness by broadcasting the only correct opinion, determined by the leader of the country (Russia, for example). The artist appeals to the highest spiritual values, with which he calls to correlate the information received from the TV. “Blood Red Madonna” is one of the works created in the linear photographic technique developed by the artist personally. The essence of his method is to concentrate all the surrounding light into one beam, with which the artist illuminates his model. Sometimes the result of his shooting surprises with the similarity of techniques with classical graphics, significantly breaking far beyond the limits of all fine art techniques.

Laser Sculpture by Victor Ribas collection image

The laser sculptures I create can be surely defined as a new kind of a modern visual art. I developed my own technique to take laser pictures, and the first one was published in 2008. Actually, this method makes possible for me to create both 2D images as a classical photo and 3D pieces of art as a material sculpture. The video I represent, is a sample of how this 3D model would look like. I'm sure I will have an opportunity to create a real 3D laser sculpture in the nearest future. Many of my explicit works are in private collections now. Some of 2D photos sized 60x50cm are kept in the Russian Museum of Art in St. Petersburg. On art critics opinion these images have a new degree of an emotional quality that dramatically differs from previously known art techniques. It's a new reflection of human qualities that are manifested more symbolic, more expressive. And a viewer seems to feel all the energy of my heroes, who are just common people around me - teachers, dancers, musicians, sport
