How delicate a line trust is
It’s powerful yet frail and wavering
A dam that can hold the weight of the world
With one small fracture
We spill forever into the grey pools of distrust
When we break trust, can we ever trust someone fully again? I’ve had troubles trusting humanity, and a way it has made me a bit pessimistic, a hermit, and a bit of a toxic person to be around. I’m constantly trying to rebuild the dam of trust I have for humans. I’ve experienced a lot of betrayal, hurt, and disappointment.
Trust is beautiful, and I look forward to mending that line of trust so I can become a less toxic human being.
Chromesthesia colors inspired by Florence + The machine, ”Breaking Down”
Chromesthesia or sound-to-color synesthesia is a type of synesthesia in which sound involuntarily evokes an experience of color, shape, and movement. I see colors when I hear certain music, or sounds. I use this ability in my photography by altering certain colors to match what I see from listening to music.
A photographic collection of my visual diary. Visions of my endless thoughts, and my struggles of being human with a sprinkle of synesthesia for color.
For 15 years I’ve honed in on my artistic eye, to create my current aesthetic. I learned to utilize my synesthesia in my photography. Listening to music makes me see colors. I bring that color back into my photography.
As I’ve evolved as a human, so too has my artistic expression. Traversing through life, I have noticed that it is becoming increasingly more difficult to be human.
What is it to age? What is it to die? What is it to be happy? What is balance? What happened to my inner child? What is mental stability?
Being human is difficult. It is through hardships that I feel we, as humans, are able to connect. Through my portfolio, I hope to express life’s difficulties, in an elegant way which will help to bring us together.
Be Human. Be Kind.
