The invisible light of infrared in colour

Invisible Light collection image

Invisible Light NFT collection of 20 1/1 infrared images celebrates the magic and quirkiness of some very special trees. Photographed using a digital camera converted to infrared in 2012. The conversion happened partly to experiment and partly because I wanted to give the camera another life. Heavily featured within the collection is 'the wee tree' at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland - it's a favourite of mine, and also famous for starring in 'Robin Hood, Price of Thieves' movie, alongside Kevin Costner! Other featured favourite UK trees are the Copt Hill mystical grouping in Houghton le Spring known as the 'Seven Sisters', set atop an ancient burial mound. Other trees are from Bamburgh in Northumberland and Oxfordshire & the Chiltern Valley.

Update: On a recent trip to Oxfordshire to revisit and re-photograph the tree numbered 11, I was saddened to find that time and the elements had torn it from the landscape. At least it still exists, here!
