Invisible Light

Invisible Light of infrared is a collection of 20 1/1 NFT images made using a converted digital camera with the hope of celebrating a selection of very special and quirky trees. The camera conversion was made in 2012 and the first experiments featured 'the wee tree' at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland - this is the famed tree that featured in the 'Robin Hood, Price of Thieves' movie, in a starring role alongside Kevin Costner! Other featured favourite UK trees are the Copt Hill grouping in Houghton le Spring called the 'Seven Sisters', trees atop an ancient burial mound, trees from Bamburgh in Northumberland, Oxfordshire & the Chiltern Valley.

On a recent trip to Oxfordshire to revisit and re-photograph the tree numbered 11, I was saddened to find that it no longer exists, having succumbed to the windy weather and ravages of time. Happy that it exists inside this collection.
