A collection of acrylic and oil paintings that began in February 2020, just before the COVID-19 lockdowns began.

Imaski was initially created as an experiment in an attempt to divert myself from my traditional portraits. I just wanted to use faces that weren’t human in a sense but are inspired by human faces - which is how I see African masks.

During the course of this creation process, the theme expanded to be a loose response to the mask mandates that were put in effect for Covid.
