源氏山は英勝寺と寿福寺の裏にまたがる山で、後三年の役のときに八幡太郎義家が山の上に白旗を立てて戦勝祈願をしたという伝説から、源氏山、白旗山と呼ばれている。源頼朝が鎌倉入りしてから800年の記念事業の一つとして1965年につくられたこの公園は、自然公園として親しまれ、特にサクラの時期は花見客で賑わいを見せる。芝生の中央公園には源頼朝像がある。

Genjiyama is located behind Eishoji Temple and Jufukuji Temple. It is called Genjiyama or Shirohatayama because of the legend that Hachimantaro Yoshie raised a white flag on top of the mountain to pray for victory in the Battle of Go-Sannen. The park was created in 1965 as one of the projects to commemorate the 800th anniversary of Minamoto no Yoritomo's arrival in Kamakura, and is well known as a nature park, especially crowded with cherry blossom viewers during the cherry blossom season. A statue of Minamotono Yoritomo stands in the grassy central park.
