変化というのは、にわか雨のように、ある日突然やってくるもので。「あら…先月、こんなにガス代高かったかしら？」という何気ない会話から、それは始まりました。「…ガス代…？」と、何か大事なことを忘れていたような気がした部長は、聞こえてきた言葉を声に出してみました。「ガス代…ガス代……ガス代…」と何度も何度も、頭の中では同じ言葉がループしています。「イーサ…、ダブル…イーサ…ポリ……ゴン？」と、忘れかけていた言葉と記憶が、ゆっくりとゆっくりと浮かび上がってきます。その様子を心配そうに見つめる家族の視線に、ハッと我に返った部長でしたが、思い出した言葉は、とてもとても大切な言葉でした。
