To enter the Lost Dungeon World of Letrina, the sun must be shining directly onto the Porthole of Threep in the Skyship, which will pass the signal to the ghostly spirit of Ploop the Navigator to make the Sign of Terrorfax for the Sons of the Tempest to start sprinning in circles in preparation for the departure of their Lord, as was written in the Prophecies of the Named - and only the Solar Fragment, warmed in the light of the desert sun for thousands of years, can reflect the sun's light so perfectly that the prophecy comes to fruition.
