The Atomic Wave - Wave 21
In 1954, the United States military tested nuclear bombs in the ocean around Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Ocean to see what kind of damage they would do to ships. The largest explosion was set off 90 feet underwater: nicknamed "Castle Bravo," the bomb blasted a crater 2 kilometers (more than 1.2 miles) wide in the coral reef and obliterated ocean life in the area. However there was no records of what kind of damage it did to the ships.
The collection is based off 5 original 30x30 inch mixed media wave paintings by Samantha Chilvers. Each Wave Junkie comes with a unique story about its creation that is designed to bring awareness to climate change, often with a sci-fi twist!
Wave Junkies is proud to partner with Global Coralition and 10% of all NFT sales will be donated to their ocean saving funds.
