Having returned from a short retirement in Australia, Ron Tauranac returned to motor racing by taking over the Trojan design department. He first drew up the F5000 T102 car before it was rebuilt to F1 regulations and named T103. The car was entered in 8 World Championship races and started in 6 of those (failing to qualify in Holland and Germany). Tim Shenken's best results were to 10th place finishes in Belgium and Austria.
