Avalokitesvara is the result of over 40 different layers, including 3D models, fractals, textures, photographs, and illustrations.

Avalokitesvara is sometimes called 'He who hears the cries of the world.' Both Kwan Yin and Tara are said to emanate from him. His story is that he looked down on the world and saw all the suffering and desired to help those who suffered. He split his head into eleven heads and grew a thousand arms, but no matter how he changed, there was still suffering in the world. He ever strives to help those who suffer and is the embodiment of empathy and compassion.

Bodhisattvas collection image

My work focuses on expressing the universal human potential for transcendence and evolution; our capacity to grow beyond the myriad difficulties of our lives and become our highest selves. The Bodhisattva series is an attempt to translate and distill this truth from Vajrayāna Buddhism into a form more accessible to the western mind. In this practice, Bodhisattvas are not gods, angels, or saints, but symbolic representations of the inner wisdom dwelling within each and every individual human being.

"We are all manifestations of Buddha consciousness or Christ consciousness, only we don't know it. We are all to do that - to wake up to the Christ or Buddha consciousness within us." - Joseph Campblell, The Power of Myth
