Notes about the poem

1.) The first thing to note about "Where Has The Time Gone", is that of the number 9, which is ubiquitous in the piece. The number 9, is known to mean various things, and symbolically, it refers to the ideas of maturity, wisdom, responsibility, and patience.

2.) The second thing to note, is the clock behind Donna Bella, it moves slower when visible, but faster when it falls behind her hair and back. This was relayed in the poetry, and is to mean that time moves faster when you don't notice it or pay attention.

3.) The third thing to note, is the clock in her hair. Two concepts were brought about. The first being that time is skewed, and the symbolism used was with the long-hand of the clock being skewed with every motion. The second was to represent that time is alive, and this was used symbolically by the dots on the clock that pulsate with every second tick from the long-hand of the clock. The dots themselves represent experience in life and memories of the days past.
