I really loved this little apartment. It was very basic with a squat toilet and the shower was a camping shower I brought from the US. Dirt poor neighborhood with a bad reputation. Outside my window the Oued Aggai trilled and drowned out the noise of the ancient medina. The smell of bread from the bakery sometimes made it here. The sky blue walls were heavenly. I decided that a Djinn named Malik lived there with me and refused to let the local women dump salt or chicken blood down my drains to exorcise the house of spirits.
