We gain a great deal of insight when we carefully listen to what Jesus expected when He called the disciples to follow Him. Missions is such key part of Jesus’ message that it reaches down and touches each of our lives. Our commitment to missions reflects our commitment to our Lord.
This painting depicts an area near where my parents lived in St. Augustine, Florida. The Spanish explorer Pedro Menendez de Aviles founded St. Augustine in 1565 and it is considered to be the oldest city in America. The city is gracefully unique with its quaint historic homes. This scene, showing trees flowing of Spanish moss over a street in front of a pale yellow house with a wraparound porch, is characteristic of the area’s southern charm. Can you imagine walking down this street feeling the spirit of the Lord all around you?
Prayer: Father, please don't let anything stand in the way of my following Jesus. Please use whatever I have to bring you glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Art for Missions is a collection by traditional artist Bonnie Brooks taking one of a kind paintings, photographed and digitizing to recreate a new embellished and sometimes animated work of art. 30% of all proceeds will go towards missions.
The landscapes are realistic paintings originally done in oil pastels, watercolors or oil on canvas. They are inspired by capturing details which reflect the creativity of God and His love for beauty. In this world with so much stress and fear I want people to look at the artwork and see peace. I do not want to do art that shocks people but comforts them.
These are faith inspired paintings based on the word of God to give people hope. Each painting is signed with this scripture: Psalms 9:1 I will praise the Lord with all of my heart and tell of His wonderful works. Because I am not the creator He is. I paint His creations with His inspiration guiding every stroke.
