Marcela de Ulloa was responsible for chaperoning and watching over all the maids of honor that surrounded the Infanta Margaret. She appears dressed in mourning as a widow and conversing with another character that worked as the maids´ bodyguard. Judging by the type of clothes she used to wear, I imagined Marcela as a strong-charactered nun, severe and strict. While I imagined her partner the maids´ bodyguard as a submissive gentleman under Marcela's orders. They form a single sculpture because I see them together, united in their purpose of taking care of the Infanta’s and the Meninas´ safety.
