Conceived and made by the Colombian sculptor, Don Rómulo Rozo, who lives in Yucatán, the Monument to the Homeland is the first to rise to nationality in Mexico and on the American continent. The work began to be built on March 7, 1945 and was inaugurated on April 23, 1956. The architects Manuel and Max Amábilis and the master builder Víctor Nazario Ojeda also participated.
The intention is to be both an auxiliary and a support source for the Mexican network of "El Turista Yucatán".
