This collection of photographs was shot on BW Washi Film during 2021, in the surroundings of Arcelor Mittal in Gijon and Aviles (Asturias), as part of our ongoing documentary project ‘Paraiso Natural’.

Like taken from Tolkien’s wildest dreams, Asturias is a magical place. A region with a long track history of working class movements and civil revolutions, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and unique nature. Since many years, the local governments and institutions proudly celebrate and push its tourism slogan, ‘Paraiso Natural’ (Natural Paradise). The reality is quite different. Although in essence, it is a real natural paradise, the pollution, environmental destruction, deforestation, intensive agriculture and social inequalities are rapidly destroying the region.

Pollution in Asturias kills twice as many people as in the rest of Spain.

And that’s why I’m launching my first NFT collection. All profits from this collection will be directly donated to the ‘Paraiso Natural’ project, in an effort to reduce environmental pollution in Asturias.
