“Omega Shogun” was conceived with the goal of exhibiting my growing level of mastery and my matured style of executing Hands. The reason I’ve put so much subtle and drastic emphasis on Hands in my artwork is because my own hands have guided me throughout my life from childhood til today...
In my younger years I spent almost a decade as an amateur boxer under the tutelage and coaching of my grandfather and not only had a certain level of mastery in combat sport, but also gained a wealth of knowledge through disciplines of consistency and philosophies of self-preservation that applied for nearly everything I’ve come to deal with in life then and today.
The passing of my younger brother and mother to cancer when I was 16 prompted a seismic shift in my life that sat me down and caused me to not only hurt immensely, but from it grow, reassess, and re-establish myself as a stronger person through my mind and soul.
The need to vent and express how this metamorphosis felt and fueled me, drew me to visual and fine arts in 2006. Since that very year I have spent each day/week/month/year til today using my hands to create and manifest art for myself and others to enjoy, learn from, and share together.
My hands have been keys to many doors, written many chapters, and will always be servant to creation. ...Get These Hands...
I am driven by a genuine passion for manifesting awe-inspiring and psychologically empowering pieces of art. Based on my life as person who has had to find power through loss and peace through discomfort. Primarily raised by my grandparents, losing my youngest brother and mother to cancer in my mid-teens were and still is the primary fuel to the fire that I use to push myself to create and provide for my family through art. What inspires my psyche is a need to do and be greater for myself and those around me who I in-turn inspire and motivate. My artistic expression utilizes the aesthetics and cultures of ancient Egypt, India, and Japan. I take those inspirations and combine them with the philosophies I’ve learned and developed, to create the images I do to this day.
