002.Kintaikyo/Yamaguchi

The Kintai Bridge is a five-span bridge spanning the Nishiki River in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is one of the three most famous bridges in Japan, and is designated as a national scenic beauty (in the area including the upstream and downstream areas) because of its rich natural backdrop. 1673, the bridge was built with a combination of wisdom and technology based on the wish to create a bridge that would not be washed away. The structure of the bridge, which spans about 200 meters of the river, is both elaborate and ingenious. It also boasts a beautiful appearance. 　More than 350 years have passed since its construction, and the technology and beauty of the Kintai Bridge continues to be preserved. No matter where you look in the world, there is no other wooden arch bridge with the same structure as the Kintai Bridge.

002番　錦帯橋/山口県

錦帯橋は、山口県岩国市の錦川にかかる５連の橋。日本三名橋に数えられ、豊かな自然を背景として国の名勝に指定（上流・下流を含む地域）されています。1673年、「流されない橋を」との願いのもと、知恵と技術の結集により創建。川幅約２００ｍを渡すその構造は、精巧かつ独創的。そして美しい姿を誇ります。 　創建以来約350年を超えて、錦帯橋の技術と美しさは今もなお守られ続けています。世界中どこを探しても、錦帯橋と同じ構造の木造アーチ橋は存在しません。
