My work starts with the intention of promoting the beauty of Korea with Korean materials. For me and myself, Korean materials remain beautiful due to warm memories with my grandmother in my childhood which leads to serve as a medium of ‘Jeong’(sharing, caring, loving hearts ). In fact, the patterns engraved on the old materials are embroidered with embroidery in addition to their practical functions, and each has its own magical meaning. For example, the materials engraved with the Ten Longevity Symbols have symbolic meanings to pray for longevity. The old ancestors gave flower shoes containing these wishes as gifts from their in-laws when they got married. Therefore, when patterns were engraved on objects given as gifts from old materials, their meanings were expressed according to the situation, and affection could be exchanged without having to express them in words. In other words, it is a way of communication and a charm. I felt a sense of homogeneity in the old materials that I felt such affection and projected myself. Among the old materials, what can be found especially in women's ornaments is that unlike modern jewelry, shoes, and clothing, the contrast of complementary colors and the five colors stand out quite a lot. I don't think any modern ornamental decorations can replace Korean beauty.
