The bride's Father blessing her after Ganesh Puja depicts the purest and most profound form of love - father and daughter, in my view. We address our father as ‘Data Hukam’ in Rajput society. The word’s origin is from providing food, shelter and love. After Ganpati Aarti, my Data Hukam, Virendra Singh Ranawat, blessed me with love and best wishes for the future. Mewari Paag consists of a long, thin cloth that forms a hat. The initial two to three layers cover the head. Then half of the paag is layered to create Aagiya, a characteristic of only Rajputs. You won't find this on another paag. It also creates the Base. The shape of the base depends on the individual and the Gharana (House) to which one belongs. Half of the paag is used for building this base. The remaining cloth forms Challa and flows on either side of the head, depending on the Gharana/House traditions. Usually, on the right side. Every metre length of a paag makes approximately one and a half layers.
