Soul of a Gazer, by t8chy0n
Collectively, the Gazer Family has come to know that Gazers by Matt Kane are not only intricate and symbolic moon phase πππ calendars and timepieces, but also cutting-edge, conceptual living works of art that are the epitome (and pushing the boundaries) of modern art.
Gazers incredibly use time, provenance, color theory, astronomy, social culture, and technology (blockchain and coding), as the medium of art.
We fellow OGs (Original Gazers) have collected a limited supply of 1,000 Gazers that will iterate infinite new Gazers. This duality is intentional and by elegant design. Young vs. Old Origin Moons. Active vs. Long Reflects. Midnight vs. Noon Contrast. Calendars vs. Clocks. +1 Frame overlayed at faster and/or slower paces over time. π©βπ¨π vs.π¨βπ¨π (MCCM). Glimpses not only of the past, but into the future, through Celebrations. Persisting vs. Ephemeral Moments.
As I reflect π on the many highlights of 2022 on this first day of the hopeful new year in 2023πͺ, being entrusted and bestowed the honor of Matt Kane's first invitation to be a Moderator of the dedicated Gazers Discord (a self-defining and mutually-respecting community which organically formed out the ArtBlocks Discord) was truly special (although my son thought otherwise - inside joke). I also have enormous pride for being the collector who coined the term "Original Gazers" or OGs, while also conceiving of the term "Aluminati" for the much sought-after Aluminum Trait in the Gazers Collection (of which the subject of this Etch is: Aluminati 614). And, of course, being an integral part of our close-knit and supportive Gazers family (which is so much more than just a community) is what gives me hope and inspiration for the years to come.
To all of the current, past, and future OGs... as I always say... "Once a Gazer, Always a Gazer".
