I have taken the photographs in 2017 during a relatively quiet time of the year. Walking around the ancient town alone with the sunset was a visual experience which is partly reflected in this work. As usual, my photographs get edited so many times they acquire individual lives beyond their origin as I work to anchor them to the main idea, place, feeling or whatever was central.
The town of Uchisar is located in Kapadokya in Central Anatolia. This video is based on 10 of my photographs which will be individually tokenized in the not too distant future. The sound (Swan) is from Pixabay Music.

Uçhisar, which is situated on the edge of Göreme National Park, is dominated by a 60-metre-high castle-mountain, which is visible over a wide distance and has the form of a large cylindrical tower. This massif is crisscrossed by numerous underground passageways and rooms, which are now mostly blocked or impassable. They served as residential areas, as well as cloisters in Byzantine times. Originally, around 1,000 people lived in the castle, but it is no longer inhabited today. The landscape is also marked by the fairy chimneys scattered through it. (Wikipedia)
