Channeling art heist subject and self-proclaimed non-impressionist Edgar Degas, "Study of an Artistic Soiree I" by NINOCENCE is a re-observation of a stolen Degas' "Studies for the Programme I".
A depiction of her avatar-self turned away from the mindlessness of a night out, the piece conveys that certain sense of solitude and a feeling of not fitting in only a creator would know. It portrays the human need to connect in a clash with the soul's desire to use the precious time productively and solely to create.
Degas, too, was of the belief that artists are best left to their own devices if their craft shall come to fruition; that the best art is created solitarily, alienating his friends and other artists to focus on self-discovery through art.
