*** Includes a signed A2 (59,4cmx42cm) Hahnemühle PhotoRag 308gsm paper print ***
"Matryoshka" is part of the "Traditional dolls" series. This is the first piece of my serie that illustrate local culture dolls from many countries around the world.
The "Matryoshkas" always enchanted me because of the hand work, their delicate details painted one by one, even they are so small.
- The first Russian nested doll set was carved in 1890 at the Children's Education Workshop by Vasily Zvyozdochkin and designed by Sergey Malyutin, who was a folk crafts painter in the Abramtsevo estate of Savva Mamontov, a Russian industrialist and patron of arts.
