The DAO Drops Genesis Cohort NFT represents participation as a finalist in the first round of DAO Drops, a first-of-its-kind Retro Active Public Goods Funding initiative created by dOrg, supported by a grant pool from the Ethereum Foundation. Each recipient of this NFT is a finalist who was nominated into the round either by themselves or a community member and qualified by the DAO Drops team to be part of the first cohort of finalists. The first round of DAO Drops concluded on March 30, 2023, and all the participants have received their allocations based on a vote from the Ethereum community.
