In the darkest corners of our mind, fear lurks, waiting for its chance to pounce. It creeps into our thoughts like a sinister whisper, slowly infecting our every decision. With each passing moment, its hold grows stronger, until it has taken control.

At first, fear is a shiver down the spine, a prickling sensation at the back of the neck. But it doesn't stop there. It spreads, wrapping its cold fingers around our heart, until our pulse races with terror. Our thoughts become clouded, while reason is lost in the maelstrom of emotions. It whispers to us, filling our minds with thoughts of danger, of loss, of the unknown horrors that lie just beyond the veil of our understanding. And we believe it, until we are consumed by the terror that it brings. We are nothing but a shell of our former selves, our bodies and minds consumed by the terror that fear has unleashed.

So beware reader, it may seem like a natural and necessary response to perceived danger, but it can quickly consume us.
