Child labor stands as one of the most significant social problems in Nepal. According to data from national surveys, Nepal has more than 1 out of 3 of its children between the age of 5 and 14 who are involved in child labor.

The situation is even worse in rural areas.

A substantial number of children forced into labor are found in brick kilns spread across the country.

Many children work away from their families and the work conditions in these places are far beyond acceptable.

Children are denied access to their families and also to their basic needs and most of them do not go to school.

Almost all children are diagnosed with health problems related to their back, ears, head and bones due to prolonged work hours, limited rest and lack of proper nutrition.

The young workers earn less than $8 a day.
