the humanization of your parents is a natural part of growing up. the scariest part is as you start to see the good, the bad, and the ugly, you realize all of that lives within you too. i am most similar to my dad and simultaneously get my best and most difficult qualities from him. i wouldn’t change a thing because he is brilliant and wonderful. although, i maybe would’ve liked a little more patience and kindness from my mom. regardless, i am who i am. and our parents aren’t superheroes. they are human beings wearing capes doing their best.
