Dodsicle's blue-white pixels artworks are a postmodern interpretation of the traditional Delft Blue ceramics. All works were inspired by the Delft Blue pottery that has been produced in the Netherlands since the 17th Century. The pixels symbolise the bridge between traditional and digital art, emphasising the dynamic nature of traidtions and heritage.
On a more personal note, the Delft Blue collections bridge my present day art with nostalgia. Delft Blue brings me back to my late Grandmother's house, and the pixelated style refers to the beautiful wall hangings she used to make.
All art works of this collection are also printed on a 15 - 15 cm ceramic tile. After collecting a piece, please reach out to me via Twitter DM, if you are interested in the IRL piece.
