Postcards From Hawaii #11: I Love Waikiki July 2020 | Edition: 1/1 NFT
During the pandemic, a walk at night was an opportunity to get out and breath the fresh air on Hawaii’s empty beaches, even in Waikiki. The hotels all posted messages of hope, reminding us how much we love Waikiki.
I've lived in Waikiki for almost 20 years since I moved to Hawaii, and 2020 was surreal. Going for a walk down Kalakaua Avenue without the throngs of visitors was both peaceful and sad.
This photo was taken on an evening walk with my wife ahead of a potential hurricane, which thankfully missed Oahu. That moment on the beach recognizing the solidarity of our community coming together will never be forgotten.
I love Waikiki!
