Dropping down to even lower screen resolutions than in "Humble Beginnings" had advantages - doing so allowed the budding coder to display more colours and luminances.

Examples and tinkering produced a variety of figures, from wireframe geometries to shaded figures that exhibited 3D qualities. More was needed, though! The prospect of creating games was exciting, and would be easy to share with friends and family, so that they could enjoy the journey, too!

Many games called for random elements, and so those quickly entered the picture, like what's seen here - an algorithmic randomized lattice, with shading as an early exploration of how to convey depth.
