Bowling in Neon
I remember my dad picking me and my little brother up from school to have what he called "daddy days" to go bowling with him when we were young children. The excitement I felt when my name was called over the intercom was immeasurable and I could rarely contain my excitement. Sometimes we were told beforehand, other times he kept it a secret and surprised us. I was never very good at bowling as a young kid, but spending time with my dad and my younger brother meant the world to me. I will cherish those moments every day for the rest of my life.
This photo reminds me of better times. Back when my world was small and I didn't have a clue about any of the bad things going on around the globe. Back when I was ignorant to the violence and self-destruction we humans are capable of. The world can be very cruel, but it can also be beautiful and this photo always reminds me of that.
I long for those days, but nothing is stopping us from living in those moments today.
