The Forests around our area are almost exclusively filled with Spruces. Fast growing but flat rooted, storms can and have caused some serious damage to the forests around my home over the last years

Deforestation was needed to keep the forest safe from beetle infestation and it was a saddening thing to see for me as i have spent many hours in the forests of my area.

However what i learned is that forests are strong and spruces are tough as nails, they grow back quick, they survive harsh conditions and weather and they probably saw decimation far worse before, it was just the first one i saw in my short human life on here.

What stayed with me after all this is the appreciation for the forest, me shaking some of the smaller trees sometimes in winter when the snow load looks unbearably heavy and giving out the occasional hug to some of them - love your forests and take care of them
