Crater Lake is one of those places that every time I see it, it takes my breath away. And there is surely nothing like seeing it under a canopy of stars.
This is a story of inspiration. Grasp tightly to whatever it is that inspires you like photographing the Milky Way at one of the most beautiful places on Earth inspires me.
This is minted on my 1 year anniversary as an NFT artist.
Behind the scenes: I took this photo in early June just after the rim road opened. What started out as soft summer snow got harder and icier as it got colder and the wind blew while I took this 10 shot panorama scared I might slip off the cliff. The landscape is five 7 minute exposures. These long exposures allow the camera to get enough light from the stars to illuminate the detail in the land. The sky is also a 5 shot pano but with 10 exposures of each stacked to reduce noise.
