Phosphene is thrilled to drop an iconic collaboration NFT by British painter Ben Ashton, musician Josh Steele (aka Flux Pavilion), and London designer Luke Tickner.
“All Change Please” is a painting by Ben Ashton who has gained international fame for his surreal Regency style portraiture. Ashton’s work delves into the mythos, lies and confabulations of the notion of class, supremacy, and social rank. Skewering the concept of aristocracy, his work also evokes a dark hallucinogenic beauty that entices the viewer in. Running the gamut from ethereally delicate to brutally grotesque, the work is always mesmerizing.
Josh Steele is the man behind Flux Pavilion, a globally acclaimed producer, DJ, and musician. A long time friend of Ashton’s, Steele was inspired to create an ambient soundscape to accompany this digital artwork. Citing this collaboration as a way for each artist to respectively expand their own artistic world-making, they also found it inspiring to create a singular art object together.
Luke Tickner is an established visual effects artist having worked in the industry for well over a decade. Being involved in a wide range of projects, from movies and TV series to advertising and short films, he has always been interested in exploring new avenues. Through a chance conversation with Ben, they imagined how the world of fine art and VFX could combine, resulting in this collaboration which looks to change the way we think of digital artwork.
Phosphene will be offsetting all carbon emissions created with this drop. Collectors of this NFT will also receive a personalized Ben Ashton mini print, signed and numbered by Ben Ashton.
