Imagine if being a woman is hard today;
What challenges our great great grandmothers faced and overcame for us to be here today?
Indigenous Americans are those humans who lived and thrived in present day North and South American continents, prior to contact with settler populations. Their descendants continue to proudly live and thrive, keeping many aspects of their ancestors' cultures alive in this ever evolving world.
My ancestors most likely spoke Nahuatl (Aztec) or Mayan, which to this day still have over 1 million native speakers in Central and South America. In North America where I live presently, Navajo, Cree and Ojibwe are still spoken by hundreds of thousands of people as well.
