The Na Pali coast stretches over 15 miles on the northwest coast of Kauai, Hawaii. World renowned for its breathtaking cliffs that rise as much as 4,000 feet above sea level; there hides a secret within.

The Honopū Valley sits within the Na Pali coast and is only accessible by water. Honopū means “conch shell” and the valley is named after the conch shell-like sounds its arch makes when hit by the southbound winds.

Famous for its appearance in the (1976 remake of King Kong) and the (1998 movie Six Days Seven Nights). I needed to experience its beauty and document it from my perspective.

The entire morning had been very gloomy with low visibility, though as soon as we arrived to the valley, all the clouds magically lifted and the blue sky appeared. It was like mother nature was giving me permission to capture this once in a lifetime photograph. It was at that moment I picked up my camera and stood at the bow of the boat to take this photo.
