The Spouting Horn, a geyser-like blowhole situated in Kauai, Hawaii, offers a breathtaking observation deck from where you can witness the mighty Pacific Ocean rush through sea caves, propelling water up to 50ft in the air. This image captures one of the locations where the water enters the cave before surging out of the horn.

Legend has it that the Poipu coastline was once guarded by a giant lizard that would devour anyone who entered its territory. One day, a young man named Liko swam into the lizard's domain, and the creature charged towards him. In a desperate move, Liko dived into an underwater sea cave, with the lizard in hot pursuit. However, the passage was too narrow for the beast, and it got stuck, unable to follow Liko's escape through the horn. Even today, when the Spouting Horn shoots water into the air, you can hear the lizards low growls of captivity from within the cave.

On this particular day, I woke up early, rented a bike and hurried to the coast, hoping to experience this wonder all by myself. To my delight, there was no one there when I arrived, which made me question if I had the right location. Just then, I heard the low roar, and I turned my head to behold the awe-inspiring sight of water gushing out of the horn. It was a magnificent display of nature's power. I took my time exploring the area, experimenting with different compositions, and finally settling on this one. Patiently, I waited for the perfect moment, adjusting the timing and shutter speed to capture the ocean's incredible power.
