This film is the first reported sighting of the HIDDEN ONE, a.k.a. the HIDDEN MAN, taken in 2002 by Harper Dugan and Raquel Castaneda.
Though long debunked as a hoax, strange occurrences surrounding the creators and footage itself have lodged this film firmly into the public's imagination.
Dugan (the subject figure) & Castaneda (the camera operator) were two students from Hidden Lakes, Illinois studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The artists exhibited strange behavior following the completion of the film before disappearing in the months after. To this day, the location of the original 8MM reel is unknown and the creators remain missing.
The "Hidden Man" is a folk legend surrounding a vagrant of unknown origin with supposed supernatural abilities. The film predates the myth's current "Hidden Man" name, which entered parlance around 2004-5.
