Why a box and why a reaction to AI? The boxes in what will become a longer series of boxes, addresses a point of philosophy in digital art.

Software is designed to make life and problems solvable.

A measure of its success is whether it does so efficiently.

This efficiency is a projection of a human expectation onto a machine. When we use software, and when a developer or team of developers make it, the expectation is that things will become shippable when they work well enough to reduce cognitive friction.

What does this mean for an artist creating digital art? What does it mean for an audience of digital art?

What expectations do they have when addressing the work, making the work, using the tools and presenting the result?

I have decided to present the process.

This is box one of trying to make something by not using the software well. Inefficiency.

So that I may put the audience's expectation in place of mine. Mine are not important.
