The Arctic is warming 3 times faster than the rest of the planet. Global warming melts snow and ice and large areas of dark land get directly exposed to the sunrays and accumulates even more heat, creating a vicious circle of increasing temperatures. This is known as the albedo effect and is particularly true in Iceland where most of the land uncovered by ice is basaltic black rocks. Unfortunately, like this boat sailing over an apparently calm sea, we don't worry enough of the storm threat that is forming above our heads.

I’m Phil Garcia, a French professional photographer living in the Westfjords of Iceland. My images have been awarded in international photography competitions and major European nature photography festivals. I published several Fine Art books about Iceland that have been sold over Europe. Last winter I collaborated in one of the latest projects from the BBC (to be broadcasted next year).
“Arctic mood” is an evolutive collection of Icelandic landscapes that will be limited to 8 images.
It features secret places that are difficult to access (and to locate from the picture). Pictures are taken in special or harsh weather conditions, making them very unique and impossible to copy.
To keep this collection's scarcity as high as possible, I'll not mint any landscapes from places that have been already shown on the blockchain.
All images are and will stay unique.
