Mayflower Gulch is features the remnants of an old mining town by the name of Boston. In the late 1800s, Silver was king in Colorado but before the turn of the century with regulations by the US government put into place, silver crashed.
Mayflower Gulch was abandoned, and the warm-and-cozy log homes were left, the vacant shells stand as a reminder of the community that once inhabited this alpine valley. Boston was all but forgotten as it hid in the dark shadow of nearby 13,995-foot Fletcher Mountain.
The beauty that remains are the run-off of the snow melt, the old log cabins, and the bursting wildflowers.
