Basket of fruit was painted by Caravaggio (Michelangelo Merisi 1571–1610) around 1597/99. It is the only still life in its own right painted by the master, a representative work of the superfine technique and ideas of its author. Probably Caravaggio wanted to represent aging through nature, demonstrating that it too can be corruptible like man and the Church (see at the beautiful apple, but probably rotten inside). I have already worked on a remake of this work that I have seen several times live, but this time I wanted to push harder to show myself that aging does not necessarily mean rotting and that often a good dose of madness can maintain the right artistic and personal vitality. Digital drawing and painting + glitching and video interactions. The three legendary pieces have been further processed and selected by me from more than 15 alternatives.
