Genesis Collection: Khoxa Kway - Ho collection image

The collection "Khoxa Kway - Ho" in the Yatheê native Fulni-ô language It means Guardians of Jurema and consists of black and white photographs of indigenous people of the Brazilian Fulni-ô ethnic group, speakers of the Yaathê language, belonging to the Macro-Jê linguistic branch. They live in the rural interior of Pernambuco, in the city of Águas Belas. Indigenous ethnicities as a whole have their ways of living, speaking and developing their rituals. Despite the difficulties, these places have always presented very unique characteristics. Mainly, the Fulni-ô are very closed in their rituals and sacred dynamics to those who are not part of the culture. We know that when studying the history of this ethnic group they become very connected to aspects of the energy and magic of plants. The 2 main plants that are part of their rituals are Jurema and Juazeiro.
